this is actually really cool for a group who’s covered a corbin bleu song.
yup not bad at all. the other day turtle sent me 4 texts in a row about shinee. i was impressed with her thorough analysis of their latest releases.
It seems SM is investing a lot in SHINee lately. They’ve been putting out some good stuff lately. But what’s up with the re-use of trendy words and phrases like 빙글, and ‘Why so serious?’ (Which Big Bang and others have used recently too). It’s no coincidence. Either it’s just a phrase becoming popular again in Korea or SM’s sudden creativity has cracks. Why’s there so much concept recycling in kpop?

Mokpo knows Donghae
Turns out Mokpo went to school with Donghae 동해 from Super Junior. They also went to the same academy and hung out at noraebangs together.
Mokpo said Donghae would practice hard because he wasn’t a great singer, and when the money ran out Mokpo would put more in for him to practice. ㅠㅠ
Mokpo is also friends with Donghae’s older brother.

What is a good kpop song to sing at 노라방?
My language exchange group is doing a little singing compeition at the end of Novemeber. We’re all putting 1,000w into the pot and the winner (judged by everyone) will win all of the money!
My language partner wants me to sing Orange Caramel or Secret songs. I think it’s waaayy too much aegyo for me, but they are simple songs - maybe he just wants to watch me try to muster all the aegyo I have for money. I definitely have several song memorized already, Taeyang, 2NE1, Big Bang, Super Junior, SNSD, etc. But I kind of want to try something totally new.
What is a good mid-tempo song that is appropriate, i.e. won’t be awkward (I told my language partner that I know all the lyrics to ‘I Need a Girl’ and he asked if I am gay;;) but fun to sing? I want to win!
Gangnam Style is off limits. Go!

Big Bang 2012 Big Show fan account: Everything is Fantastic Baby and Nothing Hurts.
We arrived on Saturday (day 2 of Big Show) at Olympic Park around 4:30PM. As soon as we arrived I bought a crown light stick from the street vendors for a ridiculously inflated price, but I HAD to have a light stick. It’s a VIP right of passage. I wasn’t able to buy it from the official merchandise booths because they closed at 4PM, of which I was unaware. So, I had to make due because there was no way I was missing out on contributing to the infamous sea of yellow glowing crowns!
We spent some time walking around the stadium to people watch and use the bathroom. I had a teary-eyed moment while standing in front of the huge outdoor screen playing Big Bang’s MVs when I realized that I did it. I made it to Korea. I made it to Big Show. I am a teacher. I moved to another country. I realized that I’ve accomplished many goals in the past few weeks, and I hadn’t taken the time to relish in that reality until then. Sniff sniff.
We went inside, bought beverages, and headed to our section. We had seats in section 5 and were happily surprised with how close we were. We sat directly in front of stage right. I was so excited I forgot that video and photos were not allowed and I whipped my camera out and took a quick video before being reprimanded.
The staff was definitely on top of people with cameras, but I didn’t see anyone removed or any photos deleted. I was just told to stop and that was that. I did put my camera away because I didn’t want to be distracted during the show.
We sat, watching BB MVs and their G-Market ads. We saw their live band come through the side of the stage. One of them waved at our section. Then the show started around 6:15PM. Commence fangirling….
